The board of the Irish social finance organisation, Social Finance Foundation, has appointed Clare Quinn to the role of Head of Finance & Risk.

Established at the initiative of the Irish Government in 2007, Social Finance Foundation is the wholesale provider of social finance in Ireland. Social Finance Foundation sources finance to fund social lending organisations who, in turn, provide social finance directly to community and voluntary organisations including social enterprises who may have difficultly accessing loans from mainstream financial providers.  Social Finance Foundation has to date facilitated over €245m in loan finance to c.2,200 community and voluntary groups and social enterprises across Ireland. 

Social Finance Foundation’s new Head of Finance & Risk, Clare Quinn, is an ACCA Accountant with extensive experience in the financial services and banking industry. Having worked with KBC Bank Ireland Plc for over 18 years, she held a number of senior leadership roles within both the lending and funding functions of their Retail and Corporate Banking Departments.

Clare holds a BA in Economics and Politics awarded by Trinity College Dublin, a Professional Certificate in Conduct Risk, Culture & Operational Risk Management and a Professional Diploma in Digital Transformation in Financial Services. She has PRINCE2® Project Management Certification and is also a Qualified Financial Advisor.

With a motto of ‘Finance for Social Impact’, Social Finance Foundation is a not-for-profit established with donated funding from the Irish Banks as a wholesale provider of Social Finance.  It benefits from low-cost funding from the Irish banks (AIB, Bank of Ireland and PTSB) and it accesses funding from the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and Credit Guarantees from the European Investment Fund (EIF).
